Trailblazer Launch

Dear Friends,

After starting this project in October 2016, I’m in the the final push for the launch of Trailblazer, the book and project which started out as, ‘In The Footsteps of a Saint’.

I’ve been inspired lately by the author of Hawaii and other works, James Michener - who penned, ‘I'm not a very good writer, but I'm an excellent rewriter’ and ‘If your book doesn't keep you up nights when you are writing it, it won't keep anyone up nights reading it’.

I can share that it’s certainly kept me up at nights, not just in the wilderness and research phase but in the writing phase as well. I do want to honor the story in the best way I can and the team who have supported this project since 2016. It’s been a life-affirming, possibly life-changing project. I’ve aimed to produce my best writing and it’s my goal that Trailblazer achieve the #1 bestseller in it’s category. I believe it has every chance of succeeding in this goal.

There are a few steps I need to take and we need to take as a team and I’m seeking to raise funding to get us over the finish line.

Next steps:

• Final editing

• Complete graphic design and typesetting for book, this to include illustrations and art already completed by Christine Kubler

• Produce video presentation

• Initial launch and presentations in February (Seattle and San Francisco)

• Media interviews and promotion

Additional expenses will include some operating costs and travel expenses, professional services; publicity and legal services including corporation formation. The amount targeted is $10,000 which will be sufficient to cover the period between now and February launch.

Going forward, I expect the project will be funded through book sales, presentations, guided hiking and climbing experiences and speaking engagements.

Currently this book, research and project has been funded through personal investment, investments/loans and donations from friends as well as proceeds from guided climbs and expeditions.
